MINISTERIAL AND PARLIAMENTARY OFFICES ACT, 1938 (SECTION 8A) ORDER, 1987.

The Government, in exercise of the powers confered on them by subsections (1) (a) and (2) of section 8A of the Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act, 1938 (No. 38 of 1938) (inserted by the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Act, 1973 (No. 22 of 1973)), as amended by the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial, Parliamentary and Judicial Offices (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 32 of 1983), hereby make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act, 1938 (Section 8A) Order, 1987.

2. In this Order—

"the Act of 1938" means the Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act, 1938 (No. 38 of 1938);

"the Act of 1973" means the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Act, 1973 (No. 22 of 1973);

"the Act of 1983" means the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministrial, Parliamentary and Judicial Offices (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 32 of 1983).

3. The annual sums payable under section 10 (as amended by the Act of 1973 and the Act of 1983) of the Act of 1938 by way of allowance for expenses shall, with effect from the 1st day of June, 1987, be and be deemed to have been—

(a) in the case of the sum payable under subsection (1) of the said section 10, £206,561,

(b) in the case of the sum payable under paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of the said section 10, 164,048,

(c) in the case of the sum payable under paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of the said section 10, £81,423,

(d) in the case of the sum payable under paragraph (a) of subsection (3) of the said section 10, £118,280, and

(e) in the case of the sum payable under paragraph (b) of subsection (3) of the said section 10, £133,280, divided in the manner specified in that paragraph.
