THE FIRE SERVICES COUNCIL (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1983 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1984.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1971 (No. 6 of 1971) and section 4 of that Act as amended by section 9 of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 (No. 8 of 1980) as applied by section 16 (5) of the Fire Services Act, 1981 (No. 30 of 1981) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Fire Services Council (Establishment) Order, 1983 (Amendment) Order, 1984.

2. The Fire Services Council (Establishment) Order, 1983 ( S.I. No. 175 of 1983 ) is hereby amended by the substitution for article 14 of the following article:—

"14. The Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1956 (No. 10 of 1956) and Schemes and Regulations made under the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 (No. 8 of 1980) shall apply to the Council as if it were a local authority.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order applies the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1956 (No. 10 of 1956) and Schemes and Regulations made under the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 (No. 8 of 1980) to the Fire Services Council as if it were a local authority.
