CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 2, SIXTIETH PERIOD) (CYCLE TYRES) ORDER, 1984.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 to 1964, hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2, Sixtieth Period) (Cycle Tyres) Order, 1984.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The period specified in the second column of the Schedule to this Order is hereby appointed to be the next quota period under the quota order specified in the first column of the said Schedule and the quantity of goods to which such quota order applies specified in the third column of the said Schedule is hereby appointed to be the quota in respect of the said next quota period.

The period beginning on the 1st day of January, 1985 and ending on the 31st day of December, 1985.

Two hundred articles.

Pneumatic tyres for bicycles or tricycles, whether mechanically propelled or otherwise.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This instrument renews for the year 1985 an existing instrument which will expire on 31st December, 1984. It appoints a nominal quota of 200 articles as the quantity of cycle tyres and inner tubes which may be imported during the period 1st January, 1985 to 31st December, 1985. This nominal quota has been appointed to facilitate more satisfactory administration. The Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism is prepared to licence, during the quota period, all necessary importations consonant with the restrictions in operation for the different countries concerned.
