BOVINE DISEASES (LEVIES) REGULATIONS, 1984.

I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 (2) and 19 (1) of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1984.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 5th day of November, 1984, and shall expire on the 31st day of December, 1985.

2. The amount of levy payable under section 2 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), shall be—

( a ) as regards milk, 0.6 new pence per gallon,

( b ) as regards animals slaughtered or exported live, £3.80 per animal.

3. The Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 400 of 1983 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations which come into effect from 5 November, 1984 provide for the payment of an increased rate of levy on milk for processing and on bovine animals slaughtered or exported live.
