HOUSING (IMPROVEMENT GRANTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1984.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Housing Act 1966 (No. 21 of 1966) and section 5 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979 (No. 27 of 1979), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Housing (Improvement Grants) (Amendment) Regulations, 1984.

2. The Housing (Improvement Grants) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 330 of 1983 ) are hereby amended by the substitution therein of the words "30th day of June 1985" for the words "31st day of December 1983" where the latter words occur in (i) paragraph (a) of sub-article (1) of article 10; (ii) paragraphs (c) and (d) of sub-article (6) of article 11, respectively.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Housing (Improvement Grants) Regulations, 1983, provided for the payment of certain levels of grants in respect of the installation, as part of a group scheme, of water supplies in houses located in the Western Region designated for finanial assistance from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (F.E.O.G.A.) under Regulation E.E.C. No. 1820/80, where work commenced on or after 15th April, 1981 and on or before 31st December, 1983.

The amending Regulations provide for the payment of these levels of grants in respect of group water supply schemes in the designated Western Region where work commences on or before 30th June, 1985.
