MAXIMUM PRICES (PETROLEUM PRODUCTS) (NO. 4) ORDER, 1983.

The Minister for Trade, Commerce and Tourism, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 22A and 22C (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 (No. 23 of 1965)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), as amended by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972), the Prices Stabilisation Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1973 ) and the Industry, Commerce and Tourism (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1981 ( S.I. No. 290 of 1981 ), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Maximum Prices (Petroleum Products) (No. 4) Order, 1983.

2. (1) The maximum price at which a petroleum product of a brand, grade or description mentioned in column (2) of the Schedule to this Order at any reference number may be sold shall, in the case of a delivery, pursuant to one or more sales, of 100 gallons or more of the product at a time, be a price calculated at the rate of the price per gallon mentioned in column (3) of that Schedule at that reference number.

(2) This paragraph shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1983.

3. (1) The maximum price at which a petroleum product of a brand, grade or description mentioned in column (2) of the said Schedule at any of the following reference numbers, that is to say 1 (a), 1 (b), 1 (c), 1 (f), 2 (a), 2 (b), 2 (c), 2 (f), 3 (a), 3 (b), 3 (c), 3 (e), 4 (a), 4 (b), 4 (c), 5 (a), 5 (b), 5 (c), 5 (g), 6 (a), 6 (b), 6 (c), 6 (g), 7 (a), 7 (b), 7 (c), may be sold shall, in the case of a delivery, pursuant to one or more sales, of less than 100 gallons of the product at a time, be a price calculated at the rate of the price per gallon mentioned in column (4) of that Schedule at that reference number.

(2) This paragraph shall come into operation on the 5th day of April, 1983.

4. (1) The maximum price at which a petroleum product of a brand, grade or description mentioned in column (2) of the said Schedule at any reference number may be sold shall, in the case of a delivery, pursuant to one or more sales, of 455 litres or more of the product at a time, be a price calculated at the rate of the price per litre mentioned in column (5) of that Schedule at that reference number.

(2) This paragraph shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1983.

5. (1) The maximum price at which a petroleum product of a brand, grade or description mentioned in column (2) of the said Schedule at any of the following reference numbers, that is to say 1 (a), 1 (b), 1 (c), 1 (f), 2 (a), 2 (b), 2 (c), 2 (f), 3 (a), 3 (b), 3 (c), 3 (e), 4 (a), 4 (b), 4 (c), 5 (a), 5 (b), 5 (c), 5 (g), 6 (a), 6 (b), 6 (c), 6 (g), 7 (a), 7 (b), 7 (c), may be sold shall, in the case of a delivery, pursuant to one or more sales, of less than 455 litres of the product at a time, be a price calculated at the rate of the price per litre mentioned in column (6) of that Schedule at that reference number.

(2) This paragraph shall come into operation on the 5th day of April, 1983.

6. (1) The Maximum Prices (Petroleum Products) (No. 3) Order, 1983 ( S.I. No. 53 of 1983 ), other than paragraphs 3 and 5, is hereby revoked with effect from the 1st day of April, 1983.

(2) Paragraphs 3 and 5 of the said Maximum Prices (Petroleum Products) (No. 3) Order, 1983 are hereby revoked with effect from the 5th day of April, 1983.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the maximum price, inclusive of Value Added Tax where applicable, at which a petroleum product of a brand, grade or description set out in the Schedule to the Order may be sold in the case of deliveries of 100 gallons or more, or 455 litres or more, and the maximum prices at which petrol and kerosene may be sold in the case of deliveries of less than 100 gallons, or 455 litres (i.e. by retail).
