DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR FEES (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 1983.

I, PETER BARRY, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Act, 1939 (No. 31 of 1939), as adapted by the External Affairs (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 158 of 1971 ), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1983.

(2) The Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1982 and 1983, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1982 to 1983.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1983.

2. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 344 of 1982 ).

3. The Second Schedule (Part I) to the Principal Regulations, as amended by Regulation 3 of the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 14 of 1983 ), is hereby amended by the substitution in the third column of "30.00" and "60.00" for "17.00" (opposite reference No. 1 in the first column) and "34.00" (opposite reference No. 2 in the first column), respectively.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Regulations is to increase as indicated in the Regulations fees chargeable for certain services rendered under the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Act, 1939 (No. 31 of 1939).
