MECHANICALLY PROPELLED VEHICLES (INTERNATIONAL CIRCULATION) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1983.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 38 of the Local Government Act, 1955 (No. 9 of 1955) hereby orders as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) (Amendment) Order, 1983.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 8th day of August, 1983.

(3) This Order and the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Orders 1961 to 1980 may be cited together as the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Orders, 1961 to 1983.

2. Article 16 of the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 269 of 1961 ) as substituted by the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) (Amendment) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 346 of 1980 ) is hereby amended by the substitution for subparagraph (a) of the following—

"( a ) to issue international driving permits under and in accordance with the convention of 1949 and in accordance with any directions given from time to time by the Minister and to charge for each permit a fee of £3".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amend the Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (International Circulation) Orders 1961 to 1980 so as to increase the fee for an international driving permit to £3.
