DISABLED PERSONS (MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1983.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947), and by sections 69 and 72 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 27th day of June, 1983.

(3) The Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1981 (S.I. No. 341 of 1981) as amended by the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations 1982 (No. 77 of 1982) are hereby amended as follows:—

( a ) by the substitution in sub-article (3) of article 4 of "£36.45" for "£32.55", and

( b ) by the substitution for Schedule 2 of the following schedule—

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is to amend the scheme of maintenance allowances payable under section 69 of the Health Act, 1970 , by providing as from 27th June, 1983 for an increase in the maximum weekly rate for eligible applicants to thirty six pounds and forty five pence and by providing for increases for dependants.
