VETERINARY SURGEONS (REGISTRATION FEES AND ANNUAL FEES) ORDER, 1982.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 27 and 28 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1931 (No. 36 of 1931), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Veterinary Surgeons (Registration Fees and Annual Fees) Order, 1982.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1982.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. In this Order—

"the Act" means the Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1931 (No. 36 of 1931);

"the Order of 1977" means the Veterinary Surgeons (Registration Fees and Annual Fees) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 33 of 1977 ).

4. In lieu of the amount appointed by Article 3 of the Order of 1977, £40 is hereby appointed as the amount of the fee payable under section 27 of the Act.

5. In lieu of the amount appointed by Article 4 of the Order of 1977, the following are hereby appointed as being the amounts of the fee payable by the following classes of persons under section 28 of the Act, namely:

( a ) Where the person by whom the fee is payable is, on the 1st day of April in the year in respect of which the fee is payable, less than sixty-five years of age, £40, and

( b ) Where such person is, on the said 1st day of April, sixty-five years of age or over, £15.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to fix at forty pounds the registration and annual fees payable to the Veterinary Council of Ireland by veterinary surgeons who are aged less than 65 years and at fifteen pounds by veterinary surgeons who are aged 65 years or over.
