INFECTIOUS DISEASES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1980.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 , 29 and 31 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations, 1980.

2. The Second Schedule to the Infectious Diseases Regulations, 1948 ( S.I. No. 99 of 1948 ) is hereby amended by the insertion before "Malaria" of "Legionnaires Disease".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is to declare Legionnaires Disease to be an infectious disease under the Infectious Diseases Regulations, 1948, and to require notification of cases of the disease to the medical officer of the appropriate Health Board.
