OIREACHTAS (ALLOWANCES TO MEMBERS) (TRAVELLING FACILITIES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1980.

I, GENE FITZGERALD, Minister for the Public Service, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 (1) of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Act, 1964 (No. 14 of 1964), and the Public Service (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 294 of 1973 ), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980.

(2) The Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1964 to 1978, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1964 to 1980.

2. (1) The Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 281 of 1964 ), are hereby amended by the substitution of "£10.00 per day" for "£6.00 per day" (inserted by the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 278 of 1978 ) in Regulation 2(a).

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1980.

3. The Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1964, are hereby amended as on and from the 1st day of January, 1979, by the substitution for the Schedule thereto (inserted by the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) (Amendment) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 112 of 1978 )) of the Schedule set out in the Table to this Regulation.
