INDUSTRY, COMMERCE AND ENERGY (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1980.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Industry, Commerce and Energy (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 23rd day of January, 1980.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Tionscail, Tráchtála agus Fuinnimh and, in the English language, the Department ofIndustry, Commerce and Energy, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Tionscail, Tráchtála agus Turasóireachta and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Tionscail, Tráchtála agus Fuinnimh, and, in the English language, the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Tionscail, Tráchtála agus Turasóireachta and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

4. In any enactment—

( a ) references to the Department of Industry, Commerce and Energy shall be construed as references to the Department of Industry, Commerce and Tourism;

( b ) references to the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy shall be construed as references to the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Industry, Commerce and Energy to that of the Department of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the title of the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy to that of the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
