EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (ANTI-DUMPING DUTY ON CERTAIN GOODS OF IRON AND STEEL) (SUSPENSION) REGULATIONS, 1979.

I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Recommendation No. 165/79/ECSC1 of the 30th day of January, 1979, hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Anti-Dumping Duty on Certain Goods of Iron and Steel) (Suspension) Regulations, 1979.

(2) These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 31st day of January, 1979.

2. The anti-dumping duty imposed by the European Communities (Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty on Certain Goods of Iron and Steel) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1978 ), on goods of the description specified in those Regulations shall not be charged, levied or paid on any goods of that description which are imported into the State and which originate in Bulgaria.

3. For the purposes of these Regulations, the country of origin shall be determined in accordance with the rules of origin contained in Council Regulation (E.E.C.) No. 802/682 of the 27th day of June, 1968 (as amended).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide for the suspension of the anti-dumping duties imposed by the Regulations referred to in paragraph 2 above, with effect from 31st January, 1979, insofar as they relate to imports of certain iron or steel products originating in Bulgaria.
