INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDIES (ESTABLISHMENT ORDERS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1975.

The Government, after consultation with the Governors of the appropriate Constituent Schools, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 of the Institute for Advanced Studies Act, 1940 (No. 13 of 1940), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Institute for Advanced Studies (Establishment Orders) (Amendment) Order, 1975.

2. The Institute for Advanced Studies (School of Celtic Studies) Establishment Order, 1940 (S.R. & O., No. 308 of 1940), is hereby amended by the insertion after subparagraph (4) of paragraph 6 of the following subparagraph:

"(4A) Notwithstanding subparagraph (4) of this paragraph, an appointment of the chairman and the appointed members of the Board may be made on a date in 1975 which is later than the relevant quinquennial anniversary of the date mentioned in that subparagraph but is not later than the 30th day of June, and any such appointment shall be deemed to have been made not later than that relevant quinquennial anniversary".

3. The Institute for Advanced Studies (School of Theoretical Physics) Establishment Order, 1940 (S.R. & O., No. 309 of 1940), is hereby amended by the insertion after subparagraph (4) of paragraph 6 of the following subparagraph:

"(4A) Notwithstanding subparagraph (4) of this paragraph, an appointment of the chairman and the appointed members of the Board may be made on a date in 1975 which is later than the relevant quinquennial anniversary of the date mentioned in that subparagraph but is not later than the 30th day of June, and any such appointment shall be deemed to have been made not later than that relevant quinquennial anniversary".

4. The Institute for Advanced Studies (School of Cosmic Physics) Establishment Order, 1947 (S.R. & O., No. 77 of 1947), is hereby amended by the insertion after subparagraph (4) of paragraph 7 of the following subparagraph:

"(4A) Notwithstanding subparagraph (4) of this paragraph, an appointment of the chairman and the appointed members of the Board may be made on a date in 1975 which is later than the relevant quinquennial anniversary of the date mentioned in that subparagraph but is not later that the 30th day of June, and any such appointment shall be deemed to have been made not later than that relevant quinquennial anniversary".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides that the appointment of the Chairman and the appointed members of the Constituent Schools of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies may be made on a date in 1975 which is later than 31 March, 1975 but not later than 30 June 1975.
