MEDICAL REGISTRATION COUNCIL ELECTION (AMENDMENT) RULES, 1974.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (4) of section 11 and subsection (2) of section 12 of the Medical Practitioners Act, 1927 (No. 25 of 1927) as adapted by the Local Government and Public Health (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1947 (S.R. and O. 1947 No. 16) and the Health (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1947 (S.R. and O. 1947 No. 58) hereby makes the following Rules:—

1. These Rules may be cited as the Medical Registration Council Election (Amendment) Rules, 1974.

2. The Medical Registration Council Election Rules 1927 (S.R. and O. 1927 No. 56) shall be amended by the substitution in Rule 4 of the words "nor later than twenty-one days" for the words "nor later than fourteen days".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Rules extend from fourteen to twenty-one days the period during which the Returning Officer may accept nominations for elections to the Medical Registration Council.
