DUBLIN COUNTY BOROUGH (ELECTORAL AREAS) ORDER, 1974.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 3 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1945 (No. 8 of 1945), as amended by section 1 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1967 (No. 4 of 1967), hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Dublin County Borough (Electoral Areas) Order, 1974.

2. The county borough of Dublin shall be divided into the electoral areas set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

3. Each such electoral area shall consist of the area described in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such electoral area.

4. The number of members of the city council to be elected for each such electoral area shall be the number set out in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such electoral area.

5. The number of the said members to be elected for each such electoral area who are to be aldermen shall be the number set out in the fourth column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such electoral area.

6. The Dublin County Borough (Electoral Areas) Order, 1967, ( S.I. No. 47 of 1967 ) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to divide Dublin County Borough into nine electoral areas for the purpose of the election of members of Dublin County Borough Council and to fix the number of members to be elected for each electoral area and the number of those members who are to be aldermen.
