FISHERIES (DELEGATION OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1973.

The Government, at the request of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 9 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Fisheries (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1973.

2. The statutory powers and duties of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby delegated to Michael Pat Murphy, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.

SCHEDULE.

The powers and duties in relation to fisheries of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries under each of the following Acts:

( a ) Statistics Acts, 1926 and 1946,

( b ) Electricity (Supply) Acts, 1927 to 1971,

( c ) Whale Fisheries Act, 1937 (No. 4 of 1937),

( d ) Agricultural Products (Regulation of Import) Act, 1938 (No. 14 of 1938),

( e ) Arterial Drainage Acts, 1945 and 1955,

( f ) Turf Development Acts, 1946 to 1961,

( g ) Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947),

( h ) Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949 (No. 17 of 1949),

( i ) Freshwater Fisheries (Prohibition of Netting) Act, 1951 (No. 21 of 1951),

( j ) Sea Fisheries Acts, 1952 to 1970,

( k ) Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1964,

( l ) Maritime Jurisdiction Acts, 1959 and 1964,

( m ) Income Tax Act, 1967 (No. 6 of 1967),

( n ) Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968 (No. 18 of 1968).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order delegates to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the specified powers and duties of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries in relation to fisheries.
