EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (RADIO INTERFERENCE FROM VEHICLE IGNITION SYSTEMS) REGULATIONS, 1973.

I, CONOR CRUISE O'BRIEN, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Radio Interference from Vehicle Ignition Systems) Regulations, 1973.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 23rd day of December, 1973.

3. The Wireless Telegraph (Control of Interference from Ignition Apparatus) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 223 of 1963 ), shall not apply in relation to a vehicle (within the meaning of Council Directive 72/245/EEC1 of 20 June, 1972) that complies with the requirements of that Directive.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Regulations exempt vehicles which comply with the provisions of the EEC Council Directive (72/245 EEC of 20 June, 1972) from the requirements of the Wireless Telegraphy (Control of Interference from Ignition Apparatus) Regulations, 1963.
