REDUNDANCY CONTRIBUTIONS (VARIATION OF RATES) ORDER, 1973.

I, MICHAEL O'LEARY, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 28 of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967), hereby make the following order :

1. This Order may be cited as the Redundancy Contributions (Variation of Rates) Order, 1973.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 2nd day of July, 1973.

3. The weekly rates of redundancy contribution specified in section 28 (1) of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967), as varied by the Redundancy Contributions (Variation of Rates) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 172 of 1972 ), are hereby varied by the substitution of "ten new pence" for "five new pence" and ten new pence" for "four new pence" and, accordingly, the said section 28 (1) shall have effect in accordance with the Table to this paragraph.

TABLE.

(1) An employer's redundancy contribution shall be at the rate of ten new pence per contribution week in respect of each eligible male employee and ten new pence per contribution week in respect of each eligible female employee.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the increase of the rates of weekly contributions to the Redundancy Fund as from 2nd July, 1973.
