SWINE VESICULAR DISEASE ORDER, 1972.

I, JAMES GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby, for the prevention of the spreading of swine vesicular disease, order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Swine Vesicular Disease Order, 1972.

2. (1) Each of the orders mentioned in paragraph (2) of this Article shall be construed and have effect as if the references therein to foot and mouth disease included references to swine vesicular disease.

(2) The Orders referred to in paragraph (1) of this Article are the Foot and Mouth Disease Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 324 of 1956 ), the Foot and Mouth Disease (Regulation of Movement of Persons) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 271 of 1967 ), the Foot and Mouth Disease Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 297 of 1967 ), the Foot and Mouth Disease Order, 1956 (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 310 of 1967 ), and the Foot and Mouth Disease Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1968 ( S.I. No. 69 of 1968 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to apply the same statutory measures to the control and eradication of Swine Vesicular Disease as in the the case of Foot and Mouth Disease.
