EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (SHIPBUILDING) REGULATIONS, 1972.

I, PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Shipbuilding) Regulations, 1972.

2. These regulations shall come into operation on the First day of January, 1973.

3. (1) The references in section 37 (4) of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 20 of 1932), to goods shall be construed as references to goods which are shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners to be goods that have originated or are in free circulation in a member State of the European Communities.

(2) Section 37 (5) of the Finance Act, 1932 , is hereby repealed.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations align with the Common Customs Tariff of the European Communities Irish customs regulations exempting from duty materials for use in shipbuilding.
