IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (NO. 179) (CUSTOMS DUTIES AND FORM OF CUSTOMS TARIFF) ORDER, 1969.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and section 22 of the Finance Act, 1962 (No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 179) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1969.

2. This Order shall come into operation on 13th day of March, 1969.

3. (a) The Imposition of Duties (No. 159) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1966 ( S.I. No. 132 of 1966 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for the matter in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh columns of the Schedule at tariff heading number 31.05 (A) of the following:

fertilisers

and chemically

treated

natural

fertilisers,

containing

two or more

of the

elements

nitrogen,

phosphorus

or

potassium :

(1) Consigned from or made wholly or partly in the Federal German Republic

(a)

16% plus £6 per ton

(2) Other

(a)

(b) Goods shall be deemed, for the purposes of the duty imposed by this Order, to have been consigned form or made wholly or partly in the Federal German Republic unless it is shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners that they were consigned from a country other than the Federal German Republic and that no part of the process or processes of their production or manufacture was carried out in the Federal German Republic.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the imposition of a customs duty at a rate of £6 per ton on imports of compound fertilisers from the Federal German Republic.
