IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 169) (CUSTOMS DUTIES AND FORM OF CUSTOMS TARIFF) ORDER, 1968.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and section 22 of the Finance Act, 1962 (No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 169) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1968.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 12th day of March, 1968.

3. The Imposition of Duties (No. 159) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1966 ( S.I. No. 132 of 1966 ), is hereby amended by—

(i) ( a ) the deletion of the matter in the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh columns of the Schedule at tariff heading number 44.13;

( b ) the insertion in the first column of the Schedule at tariff heading number 44.13 of the following :

"(A) Conifer wood, of net finished thickness 1½ inches and over, planed, but not further manufactured.

(B) Other",

( c ) the insertion in the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh columns, respectively, of the Schedule at tariff heading number 44.13 (A) (inserted by this Order) of "(a)", "13.3%", "13.3%", "Nil", "Nil" and "Nil", respectively, and

( d ) the insertion in the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh columns, respectively, of the Schedule at tariff heading number 44.13 (B) (inserted by this Order) of "(a)", "40%", "40%", "26.7%", "21.3%" and "18.7%", respectively, and

(ii) the substitution of "75%" for "22.2%" in the fifth column of the Schedule at tariff heading number 87.02 (A) (2) (a).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order provides for amendment of the rates of duty on:

( a ) conifer wood, of net finished thickness 1½" and over, planed, but not further manufactured;

( b ) completely assembled motor cars of Canadian origin value £1,300 or over.
