ROAD TRAFFIC (LICENSING OF DRIVERS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1967.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 42 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1967.

2. These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 and 1966, shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 to 1967.

3. Paragraph (a) of sub-article (3) of article 26 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 29 of 1964 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for the words " six months " of the words " one year ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 so as to extend the period of validity of certificates of competency from six months to one year for the purpose of submitting such certificates to the appropriate authority.
