SOCIAL WELFARE (OCCUPATIONAL INJURIES) (MEDICAL CARE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1967.

I, JOSEPH BRENNAN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 26 of the Social Welfare (Occupational Injuries) Act, 1966 (No. 16 of 1966), hereby make the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Occupational Injuries) (Medical Care) (Amendment) Regulations, 1967.

(2) These Regulations shall be included in the expression "the Social Welfare (Occupational Injuries) (Medical Care) Regulations, 1967."

2. These Regulations shall have effect as from 1st May, 1967.

3. The Social Welfare (Occupational Injuries) (Medical Care) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 92 of 1967 ) shall be amended by the addition thereto of the following article:—

"9. Medical Care for the purposes of section 26 of the Act shall include, in addition to such care as specified in subsection (9) of that section, the following:—

conveyance to and from the place where medical care as specified in subsection (9) of section 26 of the Act is provided."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Occupational Injuries) (Medical Care) Regulations, 1967 to enable payment to be made, under Section 26 of the Social Welfare (Occupational Injuries) Act, 1966 , of the reasonable and necessary cost to an insured person of his conveyance to and from the place where he obtains medical care for an occupational injury or disease against which he is insured under the Act.
