IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 152) (CERAMIC SANITARY WARE) ORDER, 1966.

The Government, in excercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and section 22 of the Finance Act, 1962 (No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 152) (Ceramic Sanitary Ware) Order, 1966.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1966.

3. The Imposition of Duties (No. 128) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1962 ( S.I. No. 163 of 1962 ), is hereby amended by—

(a) the deletion of the matter in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of the Schedule at tariff heading number 69.10,

(b) the substitution for the matter in the first column of the Schedule at tariff heading number 69.10 of the following :

" Sinks, wash basins, bidets, water closet pans, urinals, baths and like sanitary fittings :

(A) Sinks, wash basins, water closet pans, urinals, cisterns and pedestals

(B) Other ",

(c) the insertion of "(a)", "45%", "45%", and "30%" in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns, respectively, of the Schedule at tariff heading number 69.10 (A) (inserted by this Order), and

(d) the insertion of " Free ", " Free " and " Free " in the third, fourth, and fifth columns, respectively, of the Schedule at tariff heading number 69.10 (B) (inserted by this Order).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the imposition of a customs duty of 45% (full) and 30% (U.K. and Canada), ad valorem, on sinks, wash basins, water closet pans, urinals, cisterns and pedestals of ceramic materials.
