APPRENTICESHIP ACT (DESIGNATED TRADE) (TRADE OF BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION) ORDER, 1965.

An Cheard-Chomhairle, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by subsection (1) of section 21 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1959 (No. 39 of 1959), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Apprenticeship Act (Designated Trade) (Trade of Building and Construction) Order, 1965.

2. The trade of building and construction is so far as it consists of—

the making, construction, erection, alteration, maintenance, or repair, in whole or in part, of buildings, or other building works, or civil engineering works or building products, including finishings and all building services, fittings and accessories,

is hereby declared to be a designated trade for the purposes of the Apprenticeship Act, 1959 (No. 39 of 1959), throughout the State.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to bring the arrangements for the recruitment and training of apprentices in the skilled trades in the building industry under statutory control throughout the State.
