CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 52, FIRST PERIOD) MISCELLANEOUS TEXTILE PIECE GOODS) ORDER, 1964.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 to 1964, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 52, First Period) (Miscellaneous Textile Piece Goods) Order, 1964.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The period specified in the second column of the Schedule to this Order is hereby appointed to be the first quota period under the quota order specified in the first column of the said Schedule and the quantity of goods to which such quota order applies specified in the third column of the said Schedule is hereby appointed to be the quota in respect of the said quota period.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Instrument appoints 12,000,000 square yards as the quantity of textile piece goods (other than of wool) originating in the countries listed below, which may be imported during the period 1st February, 1965 to 31st December, 1965.

The countries to which the restrictions applies are as follows:

Czechoslovakia	China (Nationalist)
Rumania	Bulgaria
India	Poland
Malaysia	East Germany
Macao	Pakistan
People's Republic of China	Yugoslavia
Hungary	U.S.S.R.

The quota appointed by this Instrument is superimposed upon any global quota restrictions already in operation in respect of textile goods and the import quota appointed by the Instrument is not additional to existing quotas on woollen and synthetic piece goods and cotton piece goods.
