FLUORIDATION OF WATER SUPPLIES (KILDARE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1964.

The Minister for Health, having complied with subsection (4) of Section 2 of the Health (Fluoridation of Water Supplies) Act, 1960 (No. 46 of 1960) and having consulted with the Minister for Local Government hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Kildare) (Amendment) Regulations, 1964.

2. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Kildare) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 76 of 1962 ) are hereby amended as follows:—

(a) by the insertion of " paragraphs 1 and 2 of " after " specified in " in the second line of Article 4.

(b) by the addition to Article 4 of the following sub-article:

" (2) The Council of the Urban District of Athy shall, as agent for the Council, perform the following acts in relation to the fluoridation of the Athy piped water supply:

(a) the provision, installation and maintenance of equipment for fluoridation,

(b) the making of arrangements for the addition of fluorine to the water, and

(c) the testing of the fluorine content of the water to which fluorine has been added."

(c) by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraph:—

" (3) The Athy piped water supply."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations require Kildare County Council to arrange for the fluoridation of the Athy public piped water supply (in addition to the Ballitore and Monasterevan public piped water supplies which were specified in the original Regulations) and require Athy Urban Disrict Council, acting as agent for Kildare County Council, to perform certain acts in relation to the fluoridation of the Athy public piped water supply.
