MERCHANT SHIPPING (SAFETY CONVENTION) (COUNTRIES OF APPLICATION) ORDER, 1963.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Act, 1952 (No. 29 of 1952), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Countries of Application) Order, 1963.

2. It is hereby declared that the government of the Federation of Nigeria, the government of Hungary, the government of Mexico and the government of Tunisia have accepted the Safety Convention.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order declares that the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1948, has been accepted by the Federation of Nigeria and by Hungary, Mexico and Tunisia.
