OFFICE PREMISES (OVERCROWDING) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1963. | ||
I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 9 of the Office Premises Act, 1958 (No. 3 of 1958), after consultation with the Minister for Health and having referred the proposals to which effect is given by the following regulations to the Advisory Council, hereby make the following regulations:— 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Office Premises (Overcrowding) (Amendment) Regulations, 1963. | ||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd day of September, 1963. 2. The Office Premises (Overcrowding) Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 30 of 1959 ), are hereby amended by the insertion after Regulation 2 of the following Regulation: | ||
"3. Where the area set apart for the use of persons employed in a room contains or is bounded on one, or more than one, side by a counter, the floor space under and on both sides of the counter shall be reckoned in calculating for the purpose of Regulation 2 of these Regulations the amount of floor space allowed for each such person." | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
The purpose of this Order is to amend the Office Premises (Overcrowding) Regulations, 1959, which prescribe a minimum floor space for workers in offices. The amendment makes special provision for rooms containing counters. |
