SALEEN PIER (QUAYAGE AND WHARFAGE RATES) ORDER, 1962.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 48 of the British statute (2 and 3 Vic., c. 61) passed in the year 1839 and entitled an Act for the improvement of the navigation of the River Shannon (as amended or adapted by or under subsequent enactments) and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Saleen Pier (Quayage and Wharfage Rates) Order, 1962.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The rates which may be demanded, received, levied and taken for wharfage and quayage at Saleen Pier on the river Shannon shall be the rates fixed, immediately before the commencement of this Order, by the Saleen Pier (Quayage and Wharfage Rates) Order, 1944 (S.R. & O., No. 351 of 1944), increased by fifty per cent.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to empower the Commissioners of Public Works to increase the quayage and wharfage rates at Saleen Pier by 50%.
