VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ACT, 1930 (GRANTS UNDER SECTION 109) REGULATIONS, 1939 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1961.

I, PÁDRAIG Ó hIRIGHILE, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 109 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (No. 29 of 1930), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under Section 109) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1961.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. (1) In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under Section 109) Regulations, 1939 (S. R. & O., No. 386 of 1939).

(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations shall be construed together as one.

4. (1) Regulation 14 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (2):

"(2) The amount of the maintenance grant which may be made to a school in respect of any period shall be a sum equal to such fraction of the net cost of maintenance of that school during that period (as determined by the Minister) as the Minister, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, may from time to time, determine."

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Regulation shall have effect from the 1st day of April, 1961.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations provide for a variation, from time to time, in the limit of the maintenance grant which may be made to a qualified school under Section 109 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 .
