IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (MILK CANS) ORDER, 1961.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and with the consent of the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Milk Cans) Order, 1961.

2. The duty of customs imposed by section 4 of and mentioned at reference number 12 in Part 1 of the First Schedule to the Finance Act, 1933 (No. 15 of 1933), and the duty of customs imposed by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 44) Order, 1934 (S.R. & O., No. 218 of 1934), shall, in so far as they are chargeable on the articles mentioned in the Schedule to this Order, be suspended as respects articles imported on or after the 26th day of September, 1961.

SCHEDULE.

Empty milk cans of a capacity not exceeding 14 gallons and of a description commonly used for the conveyance or storage of milk in liquid form.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the above Order is to exempt milk cans, of 14 gallons capacity or under, from the duty of 37½% (full) 25% (preferential) ad valorem on certain manufactures of tin, tinplate or tinned plate.
