DUBLIN (CARRIAGE STANDS) (AMENDMENT) BYE-LAWS, 1961.

The Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 49 of the Dublin Carriage Act, 1853, as adapted by subsequent enactments, hereby makes the following bye-laws in respect of the Dublin Metropolitan Area :

1 Short title and collective citation.

1.—(1) These Bye-laws may be cited as the Dublin (Carriage Stands) (Amendment) Bye-laws, 1961.

(2) The Dublin (Carriage Stands) Bye-laws, 1944 ( S. R. & O. No. 2 of 1944 ), and these Bye-laws may be cited together as the Dublin (Carriage Stands) Bye-laws, 1944 and 1961.

2 Amendment.

2. The Dublin (Carriage Stands) Bye-laws, 1944 are hereby amended—

(i) by the insertion of the following bye-law after bye-law 3 :

" 3A. (a) Licensed hackney carriages shall not stand for hire at the place delimited at reference number 6 in the Schedule to these bye-laws, save on a day when an annual Spring Show or Horse Show of the Royal Dublin Society is held.

(b) Licensed hackney carriages shall not stand for hire at the place delimited at reference number 7 in the Schedule to these bye-laws save on a day when a football or hurling match is played at Croke Park.

(c) Licensed hackney carriages shall not stand for hire at the place delimited at reference number 8 in the Schedule to these bye-laws save on a day when a football match is played at Lansdowne Road football ground."

(ii) by the substitution for the Schedule thereto of the Schedule to these bye-laws.

On the north side of the roadway from a point 30 feet west of Guild Street to a point 30 feet on the east side of the 'bus stop outside the passenger entrance for the steamer of the British and Irish Steam Packet Company Limited.

On the north side of the roadway from opposite the eastern end of the riverside sheds of Burns and Laird Lines Limited to a point 36 yards westwards.

On the east side of the roadway outside the railings at the 'bus entrance to Busáras.

On the west side of the roadway from the party wall of Nugent & Cooper Limited and James Rourke Limited to within 30 feet of the building line of Frenchman's Lane where it intersects with Store Street, but excluding the entrance to Rourke's Bakery.

On the west side of the roadway commencing 30 feet from the prolongation of the building line with Sir John Rogerson's Quay to a point 42 yards southwards.

On the east side of the roadway from the entrance gate of the Dublin Corporation yard to a point 15 yards southwards.

On the north side of the roadway from opposite the building line of Jone's Road to a point opposite the doorway of 92 Fitzroy Avenue.

On the west side of the roadway from Lansdowne Park to a point opposite the building line of Lansdowne Road.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Bye-laws appoint and delimit the stations in the Dublin Metropolitan Area where licensed hackney carriages may stand for hire.
