IMPORTATION OF WOOL ORDER, 1946 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1960.

I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 25 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894, and section 4 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), hereby order as follows :

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Importation of Wool Order, 1946 (Amendment) Order, 1960.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 27th day of January, 1960.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. Article 3 of the Importation of Wool Order, 1946 (S. R. & O. No. 253 of 1946), is hereby amended by the substitution for the definition of the word " wool " of the following :

" the word ' wool ' includes raw wool, processed or partially processed wool and sheep skins with the wool on, but does not include any top, yarn, piece goods, garment or article made wholly or partly of wool ;".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Order is to extend the restrictions on the importation of wool, imposed under the Importation of Wool Orders, 1946 to 1954, to the importation of sheep skins with wool on.
