VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ACT, 1930 (GRANTS UNDER SECTION 109) REGULATIONS, 1939 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1960.

I, PÁDRAIG Ó HIRIGHILE, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 109 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (No. 29 of 1930), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under section 109) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1960.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. (1) In these Regulations " the Principal Regulations " means the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under section 109) Regulations, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 386 of 1939 ).

(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations shall be construed together as one.

4. (1) Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution in subparagraph (b) of paragraph (2) thereof of " tenpence " for " sixpence " (inserted by the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under section 109) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1955 ( S.I. No. 8 of 1955 )).

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Regulation shall have effect as respects the academic year which commenced on the 1st day of September, 1958, and every subsequent academic year.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations provide that attendance grants payable to recognised schools under paragraph 7 (2) (b) of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants Under Section 109) Regulations, 1939, may be paid at tenpence an hour in respect of the academic year commencing the 1st September, 1958, and each subsequent academic year.
