CUSTOMS-FREE AIRPORT (EXTENSION OF LAWS) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1959.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13 of the Customs-free Airport Act, 1947 (No. 5 of 1947) (as amended by section 11 of the Customs-free Airport (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 29 of 1958) ) and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Customs-free Airport (Extension of Laws) (No. 2) Regulations, 1959.

2. The Exchange Control (Amendment) Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 140 of 1959 ), shall extend to the Customs-free airport.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations extend to the Customs-free airport the Exchange Control (Amendment) Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 140 of 1959 ).

The Exchange Control (Amendment) Regulations, 1959, amend the Exchange Control Regulations, 1959, by further simplifyingthe procedure relating to payments for goods originating outside the Scheduled Territories ; by increasing from £10 to £20 the exempted amount of Sterling Area currency notes which may be exported by travellers to destinations outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man ; and by including Singapore in the Scheduled Territories and removing Iraq from those territories.
