DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS. FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 3) WARRANT, 1957.

Dated: 13th March, 1957.

I, GERARD SWEETMAN, Minister for Finance, on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs as testified by his official seal affixed hereto, and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 and 4 of the Post Office Act, 1908, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 3) Warrant, 1957.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 18th day of March, 1957.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Warrant.

3. The entries in the Schedule to this Warrant are hereby substituted for the entries in the Second Schedule to the Foreign Parcel Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 ), inserted by the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 2) Warrant, 1955 ( S.I. No. 221 of 1955 ).

SCHEDULE.

Maximum Postage :

Parcel (except an Air Mail parcel)

Fifty shillings for a parcel not exceeding 22 lb.

Air Mail parcel

Fifteen shillings per ½ lb.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Warrant which comes into operation on the 18th March 1957 increases the maximum postage which may be charged for a foreign parcel from 35s. to 50s.
