LIVE PIGEONS (PROHIBITION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1956.

I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the joint operation of the Agriculture Acts, 1931 to 1955, and of Section 22 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894 and Section 2 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1954 (No. 6 of 1954), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Live Pigeons (Prohibition of Export) Order, 1956.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3.—(1) On and after the 1st day of September, 1956, no person shall export live pigeons except under and in accordance with a licence granted by the Minister for Agriculture.

(2) The Minister, in his absolute discretion, may grant or refuse to grant a licence, may attach conditions to a licence and may revoke a licence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to prohibit the export of live pigeons on and after 1st September, 1956, except under licence.
