VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ACT, 1930 (GRANTS UNDER SECTION 109) REGULATIONS, 1939 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1955.

I, RISTEÁRD UA MAOLCHATHA, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 109 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (No. 29 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under section 109) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1955.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to these Regulations.

3. (1) In these Regulations " the Principal Regulations " means the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under section 109) Regulations, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 386 of 1939 ).

(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations shall be construed together as one.

4. (1) Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations, as amended, is hereby further amended by the substitution of " sixpence " for " five pence " in paragraph (2).

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Regulation shall have effect as respects the academic year which commenced on the 1st day of September, 1953, and every subsequent academic year.

5. (1) Grants, of such amount as the Minister thinks fit, towards the cost of providing improved accommodation and equipment may be made under section 109 of the Act to a school which is in receipt of maintenance grants under Part III of the Principal Regulations.

(2) Grants under paragraph (1) of this Regulation shall be paid in such manner as the Minister thinks fit.

(3) This Regulation shall remain in operation until the 31st day of March, 1956, and shall then cease to have effect unless previously revoked or continued by the Minister.

6. Paragraph (3) of Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations, and the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under section 109) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1948, ( S.I. No. 135 of 1948 ), are hereby revoked.
