EMERGENCY IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 355) (MILK CANS) ORDER, 1955.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Emergency Imposition of Duties Act, 1932 (No. 16 of 1932), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 355) (Milk Cans) Order, 1955.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. Section 4 of the Finance Act, 1933 (No. 15 of 1933), and the First Schedule thereto shall, as respects articles mentioned in the Schedule hereto imported on or after the 9th day of September, 1955, have effect as if in Part I of the said First Schedule at reference number 12—

(a) in the third column " 37½% " were substituted for " 15% " (inserted by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 324) (Milk Cans) Order, 1954 ( S.I. No. 32 of 1954 )), and

(b) in the fourth column " 25% " were substituted for " 10% " (inserted by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 324) (Milk Cans) Order, 1954).

SCHEDULE.

Empty milk cans of a capacity not exceeding 12 gallons and of a description commonly used for the conveyance or storage of milk in liquid form ; excluding articles which are designed for use as airtight containers.
