CONSULTATIVE CANCER COUNCIL (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1948.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 98 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) hereby orders as follows :—

1. A council to be called " The Consultative Cancer Council " is hereby established to examine the existing facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and for research work in relation to cancer in this country and to submit recommendations to the said Minister as to—

(a) the further facilities to be provided ;

(b) the nature of the organisations by which such facilities should be provided ; and

(c) the staffing, equipment and suggested stages of development appropriate to any organisation or organisations recommended.

2. The following persons are hereby appointed to be members of the said Council :—

Michael J. Brady, Esq., M.B., B.Ch., D.M.R.E., 11 Argyll Road, Dublin ;

3. The said Patrick MacCarvill, Esq., shall be chairman of the said Council.

4. Seán Ó Donnabháin, Uas., an official of the Department of Health, shall be Secretary of the said Council.

5. This Order may be cited as the Consultative Cancer Council (Establishment) Order, 1948.
