PUBLIC ASSISTANCE (NAMES OF DISTRICTS) REGULATIONS, 1942.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

THE PUBLIC ASSISTANCE ACT, 1939 .

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by subsection (3) of section 7 of the Public Assistance Act, 1939 , does hereby make the following regulations, that is to say :—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Public Assistance (Names of Districts) Regulations, 1942.

2. (1) The public assistance districts consisting of the areas specified in column I of the First Schedule to this Order shall respectively be styled and known by the names set out opposite thereto in column II of the said Schedule.

(2) Every public assistance district consisting of a joint district which comprises the area of an entire county, being one of the counties the names of which are set forth in the Second Schedule to this Order, shall be styled and known by the name of " The ............................. Public Assistance District " with the addition of the name of the county in which it is comprised.

Name of Public Assistance District

The County Borough of Cork and the joint district consisting of the County Health District of South Cork and the Urban Districts of Cobh, Kinsale, Macroom, Midleton, Pasage West, and Youghal.

The South Cork Public Assistance District.

The County Borough of Waterford and the joint district consisting of the Administrative County of Waterford.

The Waterford Public Assistance District.

The County Borough of Limerick

The Limerick City Public Assistance District.

The joint district consisting of the County Health District of North Cork and the Urban Districts of Fermoy and Mallow.

The North Cork Public Assistance District.

The joint district consisting of the County Health District of West Cork and the Urban Districts of Clonakilty and Skibbereen.

The West Cork Public Assistance District.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Names of counties, each of which is a public assistance district.

The administrative counties of :—

Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laoighis, Leitrim, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperaray, North Riding, Tipperary, South Riding, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
