Adjustment or variation of pension, etc., and redetermination of service in certain cases.

4.—(1) Where by virtue of section 2 or section 3 of this Act a pension or other award is granted under the Superannuation Acts to any person who received a pension or gratuity on ceasing to be employed in a British civil service, the grant shall be made subject to such adjustment or refund or deduction as the Minister thinks fit in respect of the pension or gratuity received on so ceasing to be employed.

(2) Where the service of a person has been determined for the purposes of the Superannuation Acts under any statutory provision or otherwise, his service may be re-determined for the said purposes having regard to the provisions of section 2 or section 3 of this Act, and, if any superannuation allowance, gratuity or other benefit is or has been granted to him under the Superannuation Acts, it may be adjusted or varied accordingly with effect from the date of his retirement.
