S.I. No. 484/1941 - Taca Síochána (Compensation) Order, 1941.

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of section 13 of the Gárda Síochána (Compensation) Act, 1941 (No. 19 of 1941), that the Minister for Justice may by order, whenever he so thinks proper, declare that that Act shall apply to any particular police force specified in such order :

AND WHEREAS the Taca Síochána is a police force within the meaning of the said Section 13 :

NOW, I, GERALD BOLAND, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 13 of the Gárda Síochána (Compensation) Act, 1941 (No. 19 of 1941), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Taca Síochána (Compensation) Order, 1941.

2. In this Order the expression "Taca Síochána" means the police force established under that name by or under the Emergency Powers (Temporary Special Police Force) Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 243 of 1939).

3. It is hereby declared that the Gárda Síochána (Compensation) Act, 1941 (No. 19 of 1941), shall apply to the Taca Síochána.
