Unemployment (Relief Works) Act, 1940

Modification of certain sections of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878.

19.—(1) Where a certified work is a work to which sections 35 and 36 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878 , apply (whether directly or by virtue of section 64 of that Act), the said sections 35 and 36 shall, in relation to the said certified work, have effect with and subject to the following modifications, that is to say:—

(a) the period of one month shall be substituted for the period of three months mentioned in the said section 35, and

(b) the period of one month shall be substituted for the period of three months mentioned in the said section 36.

(2) Where a certified work is a work to which section 63 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878 , applies, that section shall, in relation to the said certified work, have effect as if the said period of one month were substituted for the period of two months mentioned in the said section.
