SHOPS (FORM OF HALF-HOLIDAY NOTICE) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1938.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 10 of the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (No. 3 of 1938), that the Minister for Industry and Commerce may make regulations in relation to any matter or thing referred to in the said Act as prescribed or to be prescribed, and these regulations relate to a matter referred to in subsection (1) of Section 18 of the said Act as prescribed :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (No. 3 of 1938), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby makes the following regulations, that is to say :—

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Shops (Form of Half-Holiday Notice) (No. 2) Regulations, 1938.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on the 14th day of June, 1938.

2. The half-holiday notice referred to in subsection (1) of Section 18 of the Shops (Hours of Trading) Act, 1938 (No. 3 of 1938), shall be in the Form set out in the Schedule hereto.

3. The Shops (Form of Half-Holiday Notice) Regulations, 1938 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 95 of 1938), are hereby revoked.

NOTE.

Strike out (a) or (b). If (a) is struck out, the business for which the shop remains open should be specified at (c).

A shop (other than a shop to which Section 19 of the Act does not apply by virtue of subsection (4) of the said section) may remain open on the weekly half-holiday only for the purposes of an excepted business, i.e., a business specified in the Second Schedule to the Act.

The Notice must be displayed in a prominent place in the Shop.
