STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1937. No. 135.

ELECTORAL ACT, 1923, ADAPTATION ORDER, 1937.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Executive Powers (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 20 of 1937), that the Executive Council may, by order, whenever they think proper, make in any statute any adaptation which is not inconsistent with any provision of the said Act and, in the opinion of the Executive Council, is consequential on the passing of the Constitution (Amendment No. 27) Act, 1936 (No. 57 of 1936), and has become necessary by reason of such passing:

AND WHEREAS the adaptation made by this Order is not inconsistent with any provision of the said Executive Powers (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 , and, in the opinion of the Executive Council, is consequential on the passing of the said Constitution (Amendment No. 27) Act, 1936 , and has become necessary by reason of such passing:

NOW, THEREFORE, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 5 of the Executive Powers (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 20 of 1937), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Electoral Act, 1923 , Adaptation Order, 1937.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. In the Form of Writ for a General Election set out in Part III of the Fifth Schedule to the Electoral Act, 1923 (No. 12 of 1923), the words "Chairman of Dáil Éireann" shall be substituted for the words "Governor-General of Saorstát Éireann."
